Brandon, Fla.- Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higginbotham and former Plant City Mayor Dan Raulerson endorsed Tom Lee for the Florida Senate today.

“Tom Lee has been an important leader in our community for decades, and has provided valued leadership for Hillsborough County as a private sector job-creator and as an accomplished conservative public servant,” said Commissioner Higginbotham. “With a lifetime of experience in creating jobs and promoting economic development for Hillsborough County to his name, I know that there’s no better conservative to represent our community in the Senate than Tom Lee. I endorse Tom for the State Senate, and I hope my fellow Republicans in Senate District 24 will join me in supporting him on August 14^th.”

“Plant City deserves a great conservative State Senator who is in touch with more than the key needs and issues of our community, but the big picture of job creation throughout the Tampa Bay area that attracts job-creators and families to Plant City. Tom Lee is the candidate for Senate with that kind of vision,” Raulerson said.

Republican Tom Lee served as President of the Florida Senate from 2005-2006, where he worked alongside Governor Jeb Bush to deliver comprehensive litigation reform and pass historic improvements to Florida’s campaign finance and government ethics laws. A resident of Hillsborough County for over 40 years and graduate of Hillsborough Community College and the University of Tampa, Tom lives in Brandon with his wife Laurel Moore Lee, an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. He is running for the State Senate in District 24, a district that includes the eastern portion of Hillsborough County.
